Segmented Bearings

A segmented bearing acts as a rack-support mechanism for power and manual-steering gear. The self-aligning bearing can take tilting moment, axial force, and radial force, which lets it roll, pitch, and yaw. It supports the steering rack against pressure from the pinion and eliminates stick/slip. The bearing has a very high load capacity and can operate at much higher temperatures also. The design is such that it reduces friction by as much as 100 times compared to plain bushings. It increases steering sensitivity and lowers power requirements.

The large segmented bearings, manufactured to match the customer project, can be used for rotating thousands of tonnes of steel or earth and are characterized by their low torque and high load-carrying capacity. KSR supports your ongoing development of offshore machine construction.
